Kam Toor RMT, TCMP
Kam Toor is the Founder and Director of Balance Integrated Healthcare in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She has been a licensed massage therapist since 1996 and a member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. She graduated with a Doctoral Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine including Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology and Tuina Massage.
Kam opened Balance Integrated Healthcare in Toronto, Ontario where she maintains her private clinical practice in massage therapy, acupuncture, and traditional Chinese medicine. Her impressive and loyal patient base is a testament to her skill. The passion to open Balance Integrated Healthcare came from Kam's desire and drive to run a clinic that would encompass and reflect her belief in restoring a balance in one’s life. Kam's goal is to educate, excite and raise consciousness about complimentary health care practices.
One of Kam's major focuses is in treating all stages of women’s reproductive wellness, from enhancing fertility, through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. By working collaboratively with other health caregivers such as physicians, midwives and doulas Kam has been able to provide the most comprehensive and effective care for her clients.
Drew Nesbitt BA, TCMP, Ac.
Drew completed an honours BA in Health Studies from Brock University in 1999 and graduated with a Doctoral Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in 2002 from the Toronto School of TCM. Drew also became an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (ADS) in 2007, and he will graduate as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in early 2008.
Drew’s expertise and training in natural nutrition uniquely complement his experience in TCM and acupuncture, allowing him to merge traditional Eastern approaches with modern Western nutrition, all of which contribute to Drew’s unique perspective in providing an integrated style of healthcare for a diverse group of clients.
In September 2007, Drew was hired by the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine as a teaching assistant and has since been instructing students in acupuncture theory, point location and TCM diagnosis. Drew’s thorough and compassionate treatment style is especially helpful for clients suffering from chronic disease, digestive complaints, gynaecological problems, infertility, menstrual pain, chronic pain and general pain management.
Julie Yeung RMT
Julie began her foray into health and wellness as a fitness and aerobics instructor for 4 years at the Metro-Central YMCA. She then started her massage career 8 years ago working mainly in companies providing on-site seated massage. This experience fostered her interest and commitment to learning other ways of helping people, not only for their specific health issues but to simply feel better. She began practicing Traditional Thai Massage 6 years ago in Toronto and visited Thailand years later to refresh her skills and experience the culture first hand. In 2003, she graduated from a 4-year intensive program for Traditional Chinese Medicine, which incorporated the use of acupuncture, Chinese herbs and Tuina massage. Her interest lies mainly in using acupuncture for treating musculo-skeletal conditions. Most recently, Julie graduated with honours from the 2-year therapeutic massage program at Elmcrest College. Julie loves working with the public and is always expanding her skills to better serve her clients.
Robert Helmer D. Ac, D. CHM, D. TCM
Robert Helmer graduated in 1998 from the Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Toronto, Ontario. During his training, Robert studied all aspects of TCM including Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture, dietary therapy and Chinese massage (tuina). His extensive post-graduate studies have included courses in children’s health, respiratory diseases, dermatology and digestive diseases. Since graduating, Helmer’s clinical experience has involved multiple trips to China to study with famous TCM doctors as well as studying in the United States and Germany. Robert has recently returned to Canada after spending two years living and working in England. Upon his return he established The Children's Clinic and the Breathe Easy Naturally - Asthma Clinic at Balance Integrated Healthcare. Prior to moving to England, Helmer owned and operated a successful alternative health centre in Hamilton, Ontario. Helmer believes there is a solution to every health problem and is dedicated to providing relief for children and adults suffering with illnesses through his clinical practice, research and translation of journal articles from Chinese into the English language. Another important aspect of Robert Helmer is his commitment to educating the general public through his website (www.roberthelmer.ca), magazine articles and educational seminars. In February, 2006 Blue Poppy publishing published Helmer’s first book called “Treating Pediatric Bed-wetting with Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine”.
Mark Enzinas Dr.TCM, Dr.Ac, R.Ac
Mark Enzinas is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a Registered Acupuncturist. He is a graduate of the five-year Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine program at the International College of TCM in Vancouver and at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of TCM in Hefei, China. He has also apprenticed with Dr. Albert Chang, founder of the Original Yin School of Buddhist Qi Gong healing, and taken many post-graduate seminars in his areas of specialization.
Mark understands that everyone's state of health and wellness is affected by their emotions, diet, environment and behaviour. He works closely with his patients to discover the root causes of their physical and emotional symptoms; he then creates individual treatment plans to help them find relief and achieve sustained balance and vitality over the long term.
Mark's areas of practice are men's and women's reproductive health including fertility enhancement/; general and family health; and facial rejuvenation. In his practice Mark makes use of acupuncture, tuina massage, cupping, Chinese herbs and Original Yin Buddhist Qi Gong energy work, which is a gentle yet powerful method of body movement that releases deep stagnation and promotes healing. A long-time student of Chinese internal martial arts, Mark Enzinas is a compassionate, gentle and insightful practitioner who empowers those with whom he works to grow in self-care, happiness and well-being.
