Robert Helmer D. Ac, D. CHM, D. TCM
Robert Helmer graduated in 1998 from the Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Toronto, Ontario. During his training, Robert studied all aspects of TCM including Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture, dietary therapy and Chinese massage (tuina). His extensive post-graduate studies have included courses in children’s health, respiratory diseases, dermatology and digestive diseases. Since graduating, Helmer’s clinical experience has involved multiple trips to China to study with famous TCM doctors as well as studying in the United States and Germany. Robert has recently returned to Canada after spending two years living and working in England. Upon his return he established The Children's Clinic and the Breathe Easy Naturally - Asthma Clinic at Balance Integrated Healthcare. Prior to moving to England, Helmer owned and operated a successful alternative health centre in Hamilton, Ontario. Helmer believes there is a solution to every health problem and is dedicated to providing relief for children and adults suffering with illnesses through his clinical practice, research and translation of journal articles from Chinese into the English language. Another important aspect of Robert Helmer is his commitment to educating the general public through his website (www.roberthelmer.ca), magazine articles and educational seminars. In February, 2006 Blue Poppy publishing published Helmer’s first book called “Treating Pediatric Bed-wetting with Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine”.
