Sherry Holt M.Ed
Sherry has worked in Toronto as a private practice psychotherapist since 1997. She is president of the Anxiety Disorders Association of Canada, and a clinical member of the Canadian Psychological Association. She earned her Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology at University of Toronto / O.I.S.E, and her honors degree at York University.
As a seasoned practitioner, her philosophy is based on a foundation of present day focus and mindfulness, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy techniques, and Mindfulness Meditation training- when requested. Through an appraisal of past or current behaviors, perceptions and beliefs, and their influence in the present, clients will develop enhanced self-awareness, integrity and self-responsibility. This directly leads to improved interpersonal relationships, less anxiety, stress and depression, providing an increased ability to master whatever challenges life brings.
Sherry works with individuals, couples, and groups, and has also presented workshops on self-esteem, stress management, and anxiety, and trained counselors in self care and crisis management. She also specializes in the treatment of: anxiety conditions, post traumatic stress, depression, and pregnancy and post partum conditions.
Seeking your best match for a therapist can be expensive and time consuming, for this reason all initial phone consultations are free of charge.
