Kam Toor RMT, TCMP
Kam Toor is the Founder and Director of Balance Integrated Healthcare in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She has been a licensed massage therapist since 1996 and a member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. She graduated with a Doctoral Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine including Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology and Tuina Massage.
Kam opened Balance Integrated Healthcare in Toronto, Ontario where she maintains her private clinical practice in massage therapy, acupuncture, and traditional Chinese medicine. Her impressive and loyal patient base is a testament to her skill. The passion to open Balance Integrated Healthcare came from Kam's desire and drive to run a clinic that would encompass and reflect her belief in restoring a balance in one’s life. Kam's goal is to educate, excite and raise consciousness about complimentary health care practices.
One of Kam's major focuses is in treating all stages of women’s reproductive wellness, from enhancing fertility, through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. By working collaboratively with other health caregivers such as physicians, midwives and doulas Kam has been able to provide the most comprehensive and effective care for her clients.
Drew Nesbitt BA, TCMP, Ac.
Drew completed an honours BA in Health Studies from Brock University in 1999 and graduated with a Doctoral Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in 2002 from the Toronto School of TCM. Drew also became an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (ADS) in 2007, and he will graduate as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in early 2008.
Drew’s expertise and training in natural nutrition uniquely complement his experience in TCM and acupuncture, allowing him to merge traditional Eastern approaches with modern Western nutrition, all of which contribute to Drew’s unique perspective in providing an integrated style of healthcare for a diverse group of clients.
In September 2007, Drew was hired by the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine as a teaching assistant and has since been instructing students in acupuncture theory, point location and TCM diagnosis. Drew’s thorough and compassionate treatment style is especially helpful for clients suffering from chronic disease, digestive complaints, gynaecological problems, infertility, menstrual pain, chronic pain and general pain management.
Mark Enzinas Dr.TCM, Dr.Ac, R.Ac
Mark Enzinas is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a Registered Acupuncturist. He is a graduate of the five-year Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine program at the International College of TCM in Vancouver and at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of TCM in Hefei, China.
Dr. Enzinas specializes in the area of men's and women's reproductive health including fertility enhancement. His training to be a TCM fertility specialist included studying with leading authorities in the treatment of infertility with Chinese medicine. Mark enhances an individual’s ability to conceive using all facets of TCM including acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, dietary counseling and Qi Gong. These forms of therapy may be used as alternative or may be used to enhance the effectiveness and decrease the possibility of side-effects of modern medicine (i.e. IVF, ICSI, IUI etc.).
Mark understands that everyone's state of health and wellness is affected by their emotions, diet, environment and behaviour. He works closely with his patients to discover the root causes of their physical and emotional symptoms; he then creates individual treatment plans to help them find relief and achieve sustained balance and vitality over the long term. A long-time student of Chinese internal martial arts, Mark Enzinas is a compassionate, gentle and insightful practitioner who empowers those with whom he works to grow in self-care, happiness and well-being.
Kyla Laxton RMT
Pregnancy & Postnatal Massage Specialist
Kyla Laxton is a registered massage therapist who graduated from Sutherland Chan in 2003. Since, graduating she has dedicated her practice to treating pregnant and post- partum women. Kyla joined Balance Integrated Health Care in 2008 after previously working at the Ella Centre for Pregnancy and Parenting. Laxton has always had a passion for working with women in this stage of life. Being a mother herself has given her a deeper insight into the stresses that women’s bodies endure. Kyla supports the new mother through the various challenges of parenthood including physical discomfort, emotional struggles and coping with the transition into parenthood.
From ‘nursing back’ to sleepless nights, from hormonal changes to not having any time to yourself, massage therapy does more than relax.
